K. G. Schneider sier følgende:
Open source for me is not a fad, a mantra, or a personal religion: it’s a rational choice made very carefully after long years of suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous software — the kind of choice made by informed decisions, which is what librarians help people make. The open source model takes many things off the table — skulduggery, nondisclosure agreements, dubious back-room deals, exorbitant licensing fees based on false promises, and vendor abandonment, to list just a few issues — and replaces it with a startlingly rational model that leverages something we librarians do extremely well, which is share and collaborate.
Vel talt!
